How long will it take for a finger nail to grow back?

I slammed my finger in a car door pretty badly. most of it fell off except for a top quarter that is still attached.





How long will it take to grow back?





Is there any special thing I should do to help it?





Should I worry about the still attached part?





And will it look normal?How long will it take for a finger nail to grow back?
My mom slammed her finger in a door a month ago, so I can relate. Don't worry about the part that's still attached, it'll fall off when the new nail starts growing underneath. It'll take 2-3 months to look like a normal, just very short nail. It can take 4+ to finally have it like the rest (long).


Put the finger in hot water and let it become soft, that stimulates it. After which just put some antibacterial cream on it to make sure a fungus or something like that doesn't get in there, you wouldn't want that.


It'll grow back okay, don't worry. You won't notice the difference, if you're worrying about that. For the time being keep a band-aid on your finger, that way nobody will see it or anything.

it will take a few months to grow back maybee three it will look normal but it will be a little diffrent shapee then the other one on opposite hanf dnt worry bout the atached part
