Try This Remedy:


Step 1: Apply nail polish remover (non-oily type)-use cotton swab to apply to the spill. Don't wet through to carpet backing.





Step 2: Pick up softened materials -use clean white paper towel and push toward the center of the spill to avoid spreading.





Step 3: Repeat above-soften and carefully remove a layer of the spill each time. Haste may spread the stain and/or damage the carpet.





Cleaning Solutions to have on hand:


1. Detergent: Mix 1/2 teaspoon clear dishwashing detergent with one cup of warm (not hot) water.





2. Pre-soak Solution: Mix 1 teaspoon enzyme laundry detergent (such as Axion, Biz, or others) with one cup of water.





3. Dry Powder Cleaner: Use powdered carpet cleaners.





4. Dry Cleaning Solvent: Non-oily, non-caustic type sold as spot removal for garments. Caution: May be flammable.

The best option would be to try to cut it out, or scrape it off. If you use polish remover you risk bleaching the spot in the carpet, and other things will re-wet the polish, and you risk smearing it.How do you get finger nail polish out of carpet?. It dry know?
Happy to say that a combination of windex, nail polish remover, combo of hot H2O, vinegar and dish detergent - and then finally very diluted bleach and cool water got it out (I think!). It was fresh so I was thankful for that. If it's been sitting (I did discover one spot which I had not noticed) - do the nail polish remover first and blot, then do the windex and work it in with your finger, then the hot water with detergent and vinegar and it should come out.
