I got in a fight today, and i hit him then we both fell on the ground, and i fell on my thumb, and now it is blue and hurts. how can i fix this, how long will it take.

you broke a blood vessel under your fingernail and the blue/purple color is blood trapped under your fingernail. drain it if possible. eventualy the nail is going to come off.
